Reverberations Zoom Launch! with Kim Malinowski (Paleodigger Fundraiser)

Facebook and X don't allow a lot of space for me to explain about both my book or my causes, so I humbly ask to elaborate. Reverberations began as my MFA thesis in 2007. I worked on many of the poems and much of my research during my undergrad as my senior capstone. And then, other books and projects were published first. I thought of Reverberations as a tool, an exercise that taught me the verse novel form before verse novels or novels in verse, were for adults or truly, even thought of as a serious genre. I tell my students and peers that writing is about timing and cycles. Both are unfortunately true. After sending my thesis out for the umpteenth time before Donald Trump was sworn in, I gave up. Then, history, every poem that I wrote in this verse novel happened. From sexual assaults in detention camps to listening to the "radio" or podcasts for me constantly waiting for news--these poems are no longer remembrance they are PROTEST. Kelsay Books accepted my battle cry.

I always said that I was going to break generational curses. Well, by gods, I have and am. My ancestors fled Poland and the Holocaust. I am choosing to stay and use my pen in any way that I can to save both lives and democracy. As I am writing this, Putin has met with Trump in Alaska. This is the poem that haunts me today as I refresh YouTube waiting for the next moment of news.

There are so many lessons that I forgot, that we as a collective have forgotten. As I reread my words, I remember that I read about terror in books and now, I am living during a test of democracy.

My reading is August 23, 2025, at 4 PM Eastern time. I humbly ask you to attend to shout out against dictators and violence. Please register with the same email as your Zoom account. Follow this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/rsNNKqIBTqCmPxFdU49ZGg

Now, to my other passion project. I cannot afford to give money to the PaleoDigger Data Analysis in 2025. I was on the 2024 dig and fell in love with Brian Fritz's invention. It allows us to dig 7 meters deep--by hand, my deepest was 90cm and that's not shabby. I do not have the means but am donating the nights proceeds from books I sell and then requesting donations as well. For more information about the PaleoDigger and to donate you can follow this link: Projects - 2025 PaleoDigger

Resist. Persevere. We have each other.
